Every other frame in the Urban Vintage collection is polycarbonate or acrylic. Retrogroove is metal. That single material difference changes everything — the way it sits on the face, the way the light catches the frame, the way it ages over time. The round metal silhouette with spring hinges is one of the oldest and most consistently worn shapes in eyewear history, and Retrogroove does not try to reinvent it. It simply executes it well, across sixteen colorways, at a price that makes owning several feel rational.

A round metal frame with spring hinges

Retrogroove runs at 42mm wide and 40mm tall — a near-perfect circle in lightweight metal with spring-loaded hinges that adjust to fit any face width without pressure points. At 43g it is the heaviest frame in the Urban Vintage collection, but the weight sits differently on metal than on acrylic — distributed across the temples rather than concentrated at the front. Sixteen colorways across three frame finishes: Black, Gold and Silver, each paired with a range of lens tints from a minimal Grey or Clear to a vivid Red, Yellow or Blue. Gold/Tea and Tea/Tea are the warmest and most distinctly vintage options. Gold/Blue and Silver/Blue are the cleanest festival colorways.

Anti-reflective UV400 for every light condition

Scratch resistant acrylic lenses with anti-reflective coating and full UV400 protection. The anti-reflective treatment reduces glare from stage lighting, phone screens and reflective surfaces — particularly useful during evening outdoor festivals where light conditions shift rapidly. The round 42mm lens coverage is compact but effective, sitting close to the face for natural protection without bulk.

The metal frame in a polycarbonate collection

Retrogroove occupies a specific position in the Urban Vintage lineup — it is the frame that appeals to the person who already knows what they want. Round metal frames have appeared on musicians, artists and festival crowds since the 1960s and have never fully left. John Lennon, Ozzy Osbourne, half the crowd at Glastonbury 1971. The adjustable spring hinges make it the most comfortable frame in the collection for all-day wear. The €15 price point makes it the most accessible entry into the Urban Vintage aesthetic. If you are building a festival wardrobe from scratch, Retrogroove is where you start.
